I went around with a wisk broom last night and spread the flour and chalk marks in the REI parking lot as best I could. Nothing was said by REI or anyone else that I know of, so we got away with another one. Ran by the Brass Elephant and all the marks were still there.... and the local drunks.
I heard some one came late to the hash, saw the new boot training marks in the parking lot and thought it was a marked check - went the wrong way of course.
I heard Dr. Mikey was off trail (surprise) and found Drinkers Hall of Fame before there were even any marks there. He thought it was a fantastic local sleeze bar for a future hash he might hare and took photos. He was surprised to find out that he had been in the 3rd beer check later.
I think it was Gumby and Bun Huggers who ran through the false into the wash from the check at Colorado and the park at 2nd st cuz they heard hashers above yelling on on and figured they would just parallel. There is no way out til you get about 2 blocks north of Foothill where you can climb up a rebar ladder and then climb over a fence - yup thats why they were so long in getting to the beer check, or so they say.
BJ's worked out. What with the lateness of starting at 7, long run with 3 beer checks no one wants to leave, and Stick Bites endless down downs, it is tougher to figure out a restaurant that will stay open, not do one check, fixed tip, etc., let alone not many showing up at who knows what time.

Exactly the right number of hashers (69) ran trail, despite zero attendance by the Westside (Butt) Pirates!
Proves the power of positive pimping. Free beer mugs and beer checks held in bars - even as low rent as they were - probably didn't hurt either.
Five new boots, three far eastside harriettes showing up for the first time in this millenium, slighly below average guideline compliance, no police.
Heinekey finally got rid of the Hashitt too.
